Market reverses four-day loss, gaining N7bn
Equities segment of The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) managed to reverse long session of losses as a gain of N7 billion was recorded on Friday.
The All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.08per cent, while the Year-to-Date return stood at -7.53 per cent. The All Share Index closed at 26,486.02 against the previous close of 26,464.82 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.113 trillion against previous close of ₦9.106 trillion.
Volume traded decreased by 26.28 per cent from 188.684 million to 139.098 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 3.25 per cent from ₦1.388 billion to ₦1.433 billion in 1,703 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 72.05 million shares exchanged for ₦0.575 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 31.965 million shares traded for ₦0.604 billion, Conglomerates, Oil And Gas, Services sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Transcorp, UBA, Champion, Guaranty and Sterlnbank were the most active stocks by volume. FO, Aglevent, Stanbic, CCNN and Sterlnbank emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Cadbury, UPL, PZ, Conoil and Guinness topped the losers chart.
