NSE continues bearish run as investors made N11bn loss
Equities transactions on The Nigerian Stock Exchange continue its bearish run as the market All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.54 per cent, while the Year-to-Date return stood at -5.78 per cent.
The All-Share Index closed at 25,322.30 against the previous close of 25,460.45 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦8.764 trillion against previous close of ₦8.775 trillion as investors made a loss of N11 billion.
Volume traded decreased by 58.82 per cent from 347.824 million to 143.233 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 9.57 per cent from ₦1.414 billion to ₦1.549 billion in 2,551 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 115.433 million shares exchanged for ₦0.467 billion.
Consumer Goods came next with 8.764 million shares traded for ₦0.912 billion, Conglomerates, Oil and Gas, Construction/Real Estate sectors followed in that order on the activity chart Fidelitybk, Diamondbnk, Zenithbank, Fbnh and Staco were the most active stocks by volume.
Mansard, Uacn, Caverton, Unilever and Transcorp emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while PZ, 7Up, FO, Uniondicon and Ubn topped the losers chart.
