Equities marker records marginal rise of 0,38%
The Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.39 per cent while the Year-to-Date return stood at -6.49 per cent on Wednesday trading.
The All-Share Index closed at 25,130.26 basis points against the previous close of 25,032.17 basis points while the Market Capitalization closed at N8.697 trillion against previous close of N8.663 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 11.77 per cent from 144.886 million to 161.939 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 6.14per cent from N1.914 billion to N1.797 billion in 4,216 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 138.115 million shares exchanged for N1.382 billion.
Healthcare came next with 6.043 million shares traded for N0.007 billion, Conglomerates, Consumer Goods, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Zenithbank, Sterlnbank, Guaranty, Access and Ucap were the most active stocks by volume. Fo, Betaglas, Honyflour, Ucap and Nb emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Airservice, Guinness, Continsure, Fidson and Afriprud topped the losers chart.
On the NASD OTC Market, Unlisted Securities Index (NASD USI) and Market Capitalisation increased by 0.48per cent and 0.48 per cent respectively, while the Year-to-Date stood at -4.67per cent and -4.67per cent respectively.
The Unlisted Securities Index closed at 597.15 against the previous close of 594.31 while the Market Capitalisation closed at N404.11 billion against the previous close of N402.19million.
Volume traded decreased by 98.90 per cent from N0.90 million to N0.01 million, while the value of stock traded decreased by 69.77per cent from N3.55 million to N1.07 million in three deals.
