Describing the projects as comprehensive and people-oriented, Engr Abba-Gana said, the PDP was proud of the governor’s achievements in office and called on other leaders to emulate his example of transparent and accountable leadership.
According to the former minister, Governor Dickson was adopting a viable development model by investing in projects that promote the development of human capacity and physical infrastructures to attract reputable investors to the state, which he noted, has enormous potentials to be harnessed for rapid economic growth.
He described the state Diagnostic Centre as one of the best in the world, with the capacity to drive medical tourism, and, therefore, called on both Nigerians and foreigners to avail themselves of the services being provided at the centre.
Abba-Gana, who prayed God to protect Hon. Dickson, urged the people of Bayelsa State to rally round their governor, irrespective of their political differences, in order to take the state to enviable heights in the near future.
In their separate remarks, a former Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. While calling for more support for the Governor, they observed that the achievements of the state government in the last five years speak volumes of his prudent management of scarce resources, adding that, all the projects visited are of high standard and will stand the test of time.
In a related development, the Niger Delta Youth Coalition for Peace and Progress (NDYCPP), has commended Governor Seriake Dickson for keeping to his electioneering promise despite the huge challenge of inadequate funds.
Acting Chairman of the group, Pastor Tiedor Jude gave the commendation when he led other members on a courtesy call on the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Daniel Iworiso-Markson in his office in Yenagoa.
He said the restoration government led by Governor Dickson is putting solid infrastructure in place to change the land space of the state especially the capital while its bold effort in security is also very evident and as such Bayelsa is now truly safe for business and other activities.
Tiedor lauded Iworiso-Markson for his brilliant management of the governor’s image and his dedicated passion of sustaining the positive public perception the state is enjoying and charged him not to relent as they will continue to support him and the government to succeed.
“We are here basically to humbly urge you to sustain your good works as posterity shall refer to you as the bench mark for good governance. You have set a very high standard to be beaten in terms of public administration” he remarked.
In his response, Iworiso-Markson thanked the group for the visit and their advocacy role and assured them of his commitment to help achieve their set objectives.
He said “I thank you for this visit and also appreciate your efforts to promote peace in the Niger Delta region. This is because what we need most is peace. Without peace there would be no meaningful development”.
Highlight of the visit was the appointment of the governor’s mouthpiece as a member of the group’s board of patriots.
