Market opens in red as investors lose N105bn on Tuesday
Equities market on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) opened the week on the negative territory as the All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 1.19%, while the year-to-date return stood at -6.20%, leaving investors with a loss of N105 billion.
The All-Share Index closed at 25,207.07 against the previous close of 25,510.01 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦8.722 trillion against previous close of ₦8.827 trillion.
Volume traded decreased by 27.00 per cent from 349.279 million to 254.959 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 7.41 per cent from ₦2.280 billion to ₦2.449 billion in 2,854 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 211.883 million shares exchanged for ₦1.7 billion. Healthcare came next with 12.821 million shares traded for ₦0.179 billion, Conglomerates, Services, Consumer Goods sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Diamondbnk, Guaranty, FBNH, UBA and Fidelitybk were the most active stocks by volume. FBNH, Cileasing, Dangflour, Transcorp and Seplat emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Fidelitybk, ETI, Eterna, UBN and Oando topped the losers chart.
