Nigerian bourse opens week bearish as investors lose N235bn
The Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 2.41 per cent, while the year-to-date return stood at 2.38 per cent.
The All Share Index closed at 27,513.69 against the previous close of 28,192.46 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.511 trillion against previous close of ₦9.746 trillion. Volume traded decreased by 36.89% from 1063.159 million to 670.965 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 13.92% from ₦9.191 billion to ₦7.912 billion in 4,034 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 613.396 million shares exchanged for ₦7.107 billion. Conglomerates came next with 17.1 million shares traded for ₦0.032 billion, Consumer Goods, Healthcare, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Zenithbank, Access, ETI, FBNH and Guaranty were the most active stocks by volume. Lawunion, Presco, Dangcem, Linkassure and UACN emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Oando, Eterna, Fidson, Diamondbnk and Zenithbank topped the losers chart.
