Market opens the week negative, down by 0.12%
Trading activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) began the week on negative territory on Monday as the market All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.12 per cent, while the year-to-date return stood at 4.48 per cent.
The All-Share Index closed at 28,078.30 against the previous close of 28,113.38 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.707 trillion against previous close of ₦9.719 trillion.
Volume traded decreased by 31.91 per cent from 305.974 million to 208.337 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 30.76 per cent from ₦5.399 billion to ₦3.739 billion in 3,498 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 169.99 million shares exchanged for ₦1.622 billion. Oil And Gas came next with 10.662 million shares traded for ₦1.257 billion, Consumer Goods, Conglomerates, Services sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Diamondbnk, Zenithbank, Guaranty, UBA and FBNH were the most active stocks by volume. Dangflour, CCNN, PZ, Vitafoam and Lawunion emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while ETI, Cadbury, NEM, Honyflour and Redstarex topped the losers chart.
