Nigerian bourse slides further as Index drops by 0.33%
Trading activities on The Nigerian Stock Exchange continued in the negative territory on Wednesday as the market All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.33 per cent, while the year-to-date return stood at 20.20 per cent.
The All-Share Index closed at 32,302.32 against the previous close of 32,410.20 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦11.133 trillion against previous close of ₦11.170 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 51.02 per cent from 206.184 million to 311.381 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 74.82 per cent from ₦1.702 billion to ₦2.975 billion in 4,312 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 250.527 million shares exchanged for ₦1.852 billion. Conglomerates came next with 31.294 million shares traded for ₦0.047 billion, Consumer Goods, Oil And Gas, Ict sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Nigerins, FBNH, Transcorp, Zenithbank and UBA were the most active stocks by volume. Unitybnk, Fidson, Berger, Continsure and Skyebank emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Flourmill, Neimeth, Transcorp, Cileasing and Jberger topped the losers chart.
