Bello boosts Kogi security, commissions Army Operational Base
The governor said, “Kogi is safer than before.”
Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, on Saturday commissioned the Nigerian Army Forward Operational Base situated in Okene, Kogi State, to improve security situation in the State.
The event was performed with the representative of the Chief of Army Staff, Major General R.O Yusuf and Commander, Nigerian Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) in attendance.
A statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Odaudu Joel Minister said the military base has been fully equipped with residential accommodation, operational offices, 22KVA solar power, water, places of worship and other facilities which will ensure its smooth operation.
He said, “It is a conspicuous fact that The New Direction Government under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello since inception has invested hugely in security and continues to do so with the ultimate goal of making Kogi state unprecedentedly safe to expedite the socioeconomic growth of the state.
“A safe state attracts investors; and the hands-on Governor has made security one of the priorities of his administration and has been evidently working assiduously to make Kogi a safe heaven for citizens and investors. The result has been a drastic drop of crime and other security challenges since the assumption of power of the New Direction Administration of Governor Yahaya Bello. Kogi is safer than before.”
