Nigerian bourse opens bullish as investors gain N54bn
Trading activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange(NSE) began the new week in the positive territory as the market All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.48 per cent, while the year-to-date return stood at 21.36 per cent even as investors jointly gained N54 billion.
The All-Share Index closed at 32,614.60 against the previous close of 32,459.17 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦11.241 trillion against previous close of ₦11.187 trillion.
Volume traded decreased by 14.27% from 212.384 million to 182.071 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 18.06% from ₦2.474 billion to ₦2.028 billion in 3,710 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 135.265 million shares exchanged for ₦1.556 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 12.831 million shares traded for ₦0.268 billion, Conglomerates, Healthcare, Construction/Real Estate sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Guaranty, FCMB, Zenithbank, Diamondbnk and FBNH were the most active stocks by volume. Flourmill, Cileasing, Redstarex, UBA and Access emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while UBN, Skyebank, UPL, Aglevent and Vitafoam topped the losers chart.
