Nigerian bourse maintains bullish run as Index rises by 0.47%
The bullish run with trading activities began on Monday on The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) continued on Wednesday as the All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.47 per cent, while the year-to-date return stood at 22.72 per cent.
The All-Share Index closed at 32,981.63 against the previous close of 32,827.98 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦11.367 trillion against previous close of ₦11.314 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 23.81 per cent from 218.764 million to 270.855 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 31.55 per cent from ₦2.105 billion to ₦2.769 billion in 3,940 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 241.463 million shares exchanged for ₦2.208 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 7.665 million shares traded for ₦0.272 billion, Services, Conglomerates, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
UBA, Access, FBNH, UCAP and Zenithbank were the most active stocks by volume. 7Up, Neimeth, CAP, Linkassure and ETI emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while UPL, Champion, UCAP, Conoil and Caphotel topped the losers chart.
