Nigerian bourse continues impressive run as index adds 1.86% Monday
Nigerian bourse began the new week where it stopped last week as the marker All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 1.86 per cent, while the year-to-date return stood at 28.94 per cent.
The All Share Index closed at 34,652.52 against the previous close of 34,020.37 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦11.943 trillion against previous close of ₦11.725 trillion. Volume traded decreased by 22.33 per cent from 378.188 million to 293.751 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 22.75 per cent from ₦5.112 billion to ₦3.949 billion in 3,712 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 254.528 million shares exchanged for ₦2.896 billion. Conglomerates came next with 16.518 million shares traded for ₦0.028 billion, Consumer Goods, Industrial Goods, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Access, UBA, Guaranty, Unitykap and Transcorp were the most active stocks by volume. Transcorp, Dangcem, Jberger, Cileasing and Access emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while AIICO, Vitafoam, Morison, Unitybnk and Berger topped the losers chart.
