This week’s episode of Patito’s Gang is addressing the question Can an Honest Person do Business in Nigeria?
The thirty –minute analytical television programme created by Prof. Pat Utomi – renowned political economist, as usual takes a deep look at the investment and business environment and concludes that notwithstanding challenges in the economic landscape, there are many Nigerians who still allow integrity and other ethical values to shape their conduct of business dealings. In summary, the business and investment landscape offer large terrain for honest persons to operate viable businesses.
The panel of discussants evaluated the socio-economic environment and identified institutional weaknesses and human roadblocks that combine to promote rent-seeking culture as impediment to healthy growth of sustainable enterprises in the country.
Patito’s Gang also cited instances where business people damned official red tapes and were ready to pay the sacrifice as part of effort to enthrone ethical standards in the conduct of business in the country.
