Bulls back from one-day recess as Nigerian bourse gains 2.45%
The bulls have staged a comeback on the Nigerian Stock Exchange after they were displaced on Monday by the bears as the market All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 2.45 per cent on Tuesday even as the year-to-date return on the NSE stood at 36.64 per cent.
The All-Share Index closed at 36,720.62 against the previous close of 35,844.00 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦12.656 trillion against previous close of ₦12.354 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 73.33% from 490.164 million to 849.603 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 1686.03% from ₦5.266 billion to ₦94.049 billion in 5,602 deals.
The Industrial Goods sector led the activity chart with 419.62 million shares exchanged for ₦87.805 billion. Financial Services came next with 319.42 million shares traded for ₦3.427 billion, Consumer Goods, Conglomerates, Healthcare sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Dangcem, FBNH, Access, UBA and FCMB were the most active stocks by volume. Linkassure, NASCON, Dangcem, Cileasing and Dangsugar emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Morison, FO, Eterna, Jberger and Okomuoil topped the losers chart.
