Nigerian bourse opens the week red, down 0.65%
The Nigerian bourse opened the trading week negative on Monday as the market All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.65 per cent, while the year-to-date return stood at 41.21 per cent.
The All Share Index closed at 37,950.96 against the previous close of 38,198.60 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦13.081 trillion against previous close of ₦13.166 trillion.
Volume traded decreased by 10.61 per cent from 353.645 million to 316.122 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 32.96 per cent from ₦6.301 billion to ₦4.224 billion in 4,113 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 281.575 million shares exchanged for ₦3.449 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 11.61 million shares traded for ₦0.589 billion, Conglomerates, Services, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Access, Guaranty, FBNH, Fidelitybk and Zenithbank were the most active stocks by volume. Fidson, Aglevent, Linkassure, UBN and Unitybnk emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Cileasing, Medviewair, Total, Maybaker and Flourmill topped the losers chart.
