Bear continues dominance on Nigeria bourse as index down 0.42%

Profit taking continued on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday as the All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.42 per cent, while the year-to-date return stood at 34.57 per cent.
The All-Share Index closed at 36,165.93 against the previous close of 36,317.31 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦12.465 trillion against previous close of ₦12.518 trillion.
Volume traded decreased by 58.50 per cent from 348.113 million to 144.452 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 49.22 per cent from ₦2.977 billion to ₦1.512 billion in 3,716 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 113.073 million shares exchanged for ₦0.973 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 12.114 million shares traded for ₦0.396 billion, Conglomerates, Services, Healthcare sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Fidelitybk, Zenithbank, FCMB, Transcorp and Access were the most active stocks by volume. Champion, Neimeth, Cutix, Maybaker and Livestock emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Jaizbank, Mobil, Okomuoil, Jberger and Firstalum topped the losers chart.
