Nigerian bourse down 1.48% Wednesday, third time in a row
The Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased further on Wednesday making it the third time in a session this week that the market would decline even as it declined by 1.48 per cent , while the year-to-date return stood at 32.58 per cent. Investors fortune on the Exchange came down by N185 billion
The All-Share Index closed at 35,629.13 against the previous close of 36,165.93 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦12.280 trillion against previous close of ₦12.465 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 66.08 per cent from 144.452 million to 239.906 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 93.80 per cent from ₦1.512 billion to ₦2.930 billion in 4,371 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 205.439 million shares exchanged for ₦1.17 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 11.809 million shares traded for ₦0.945 billion, Conglomerates, Industrial Goods, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Fidelitybk, Sterlnbank, Access, UBA and FBNH were the most active stocks by volume. Cutix, Maybaker, Continsure, Total and NEM emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Firstalum, NAHCO, Mobil, Dangsugar and Honyflour topped the losers chart.
