Nigerian bourse records 0.44% growth as investors gain N53bn Wednesday
From tow-day losses The Nigerian Stock Exchange opened the week with, investors on The Exchange recorded some gains on Wednesday as its All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.44Per cent translating to a gain of N53 billion for the day while the year-to-date return to stand at 30.62 per cent
. The All-Share Index closed at 35,103.40 against the previous close of 34,951.27 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦12.101 trillion against previous close of ₦12.048 trillion.
Volume traded decreased by 72.74 per cent from 500.300 million to 136.404 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 64.95 per cent from ₦3.621 billion to ₦1.269 billion in 2,860 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 97.006 million shares exchanged for ₦0.578 billion. Industrial Goods came next with 21.131 million shares traded for ₦0.143 billion, Consumer Goods, Conglomerates, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Jaizbank, Meyer, FBNH, Diamondbnk and Access were the most active stocks by volume. Champion, Neimeth, Linkassure, Fidson and Cileasing emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Morison, UAC-PROP, UPL, Caverton and Aglevent topped the losers chart.
