Nigerian bourse opens the week weak as investors lose N46bn Tuesday

The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index (NSE ASI) opened the trading week on Tuesday in the negative territory as the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.38 per cent while the year-to-date return stood at 31.37 per cent as investors recorded a loss ofN46 billion.
The All-Share Index closed at 35,306.09 against the previous close of 35,439.98 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦12.171 trillion against previous close of ₦12.217 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 168.98 per cent from 235.825 million to 634.326 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 51.06 per cent from ₦3.833 billion to ₦5.790 billion in 3,850 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 589.491 million shares exchanged for ₦3.482 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 26.148 million shares traded for ₦1.493 billion, Services, Conglomerates, Industrial Goods sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Fcmb, Fbnh, Guaranty, Zenithbank and Ucap were the most active stocks by volume. Cileasing, Learnafrca, Caverton, Nem and UBN emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Unitybnk, PZ, Ucap, Cadbury and Sterlnbank topped the losers chart.
