INEC releases timetables for Osun, Ekiti gubernatorial elections
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the timetables for the governorship elections for Ekiti and Osun States.
The Ekiti State election has been slated for July 14, 2018, while the one of Osun State is scheduled to hold on September 22, 2018.
The National Commissioner in charge of information, Solomon Adedeji Soyebi, revealed this on Thursday while briefing journalists at the INEC headquarters in Abuja.
Ekiti State
(1) Commencement of campaign by political parties in public: (15th April 2018)
(2) Collection of forms for the election by political parties at INEC HQ: (16th April 2018)
(3) Conduct of party primaries: (15th April -14th May 2018
(4) Last day for submission of forms CF001 and CF 002 : (15th May 2018)
(5) Publications of personal particulars of candidates (CF001) and list of candidates: (22nd May 2018)
(6) Last day for withdraw by candidates(s) replacement of withdrawn candidate(s) by political parties: (30th May 2018)
(7) Last day for the submission of nominations form by political parties: (13th June 2018)
(8) Publication of official Register of Voters for the election: (14th June 2018)
(9) Publication of final list of nominated candidates): (14th June 2018)
(10) Publication of notice of poll: (30th June 2018)
(11) Submission of names of party agents for election: (30th June 2018)
(12) Last day for campaigns: ( 12th July 2018)
Osun State
(1) Commencement of campaign by political parties in public: (24th June 2018)
(2) Collection of forms for the election by political parties at INEC HQ: (25th June 2018)
(3) Conduct of party primaries: (24th June -23rd July 2018)
(4) Last day for submission of forms CF001 and CF 002: (24th July 2018)
(5) Publications of personal particulars of candidates (CF001) and list of candidates: (31st July 2018)
(6) Last day for withdraw by candidates(s) replacement of withdrawn candidate(s) by political parties: (8th August 2018)
(7) Last day for the submission of nominations form by political parties: (22nd August 2018)
( 8) Publication of official Register of Voters for the election: (23rd August 2018)
(9) Publication of final list of nominated candidates): (23rd August 2018)
(10) Publication of notice of poll: (7th September 2018)
( 11) Submission of names of party agents for election: ( 8th September, 2018)
(12) Last day for campaigns: (20th September 2018)
He revealed that the dates are in fulfilment of legal requirements which are in line with the provisions of Section 178 (1) (2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) and Section 25 (7) and (8) of the Electoral Act, 2010 (as amended).
