Nigerian bourse records 27.6% rise in transaction volume Thursday
Volume of shares traded on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday increased by 27.59 from 249.349 million to 318.148 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 24.07 per cent from ₦5.203 billion to ₦3.950 billion in 5,472 deals.
The All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.03 per cent while the year-to-date return stood at 37.22 per cent.
The All-Share Index closed at 36,877.15 against the previous close of 36,887.20 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦12.763 trillion against previous close of ₦12.767 trillion.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 224.375 million shares exchanged for ₦2.167 billion. Healthcare came next with 60.583 million shares traded for ₦0.039 billion, Consumer Goods, Conglomerates, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
FBNH, Uniondac, UBA, Fidelitybk and Zenithbank were the most active stocks by volume. FBNH, Flourmill, UPL, Eterna and Uac-Prop emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Custodyins, Transexpr, Airservice, Linkassure and Neimeth topped the losers chart.
