Nigerian bourse maintains positive trend as Index adds 0.55% on Wednesday
The Nigerian Equities market maintained its position in the green zone with a positive All-Share Index close at 37,709.20 points, representing a 0.55 per cent increase on the 37,503.73 points recorded at the close of the previous trading session.
Market capitalization similarly closed higher at 13.114 trillion naira and market breadth closed in overwhelming favour of the bulls as 8 losers were significantly outnumbered by 32 gainers.
NSE INDSTR was the only sector index to close negative as the Financial Sector recorded the greatest daily change in market activities in today’s trading session. NSE ASEM maintained its previous close.
Trade value and trade volume both lowered by -14.96 per cent and -59.91 per cent to close at 4.08 billion naira and 441 million shares from 4.80 billion naira and 1.10 million shares in the previous trading session respectively.
WAPIC remained in the lead position of the volume-based performance chart with 76.98 million shares recorded in total trades while NB topped the value-based ranking, followed closely by ZENITHBANK, FBNH, NESTLE and GUINNESS .
