Dickson’s government clocks 6 in February, to display scorecard

The Bayelsa State government on Wednesday said it will soon begin the countdown of the ‎sixth anniversary of Governor Henry Seriake Dickson, which comes up on February 14, 2018.

The government has therefore lined up a number of activities including an inter-ministerial/agency briefing which will kick off in the second week of January, 2018.

A statement by the State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, said the briefing will afford the government the opportunity to present its scorecard in the last six years.

According to him,‎ the achievements of the administration will be laid bare by each ministry and agency of the government and give a rare opportunity for people of the state to ask questions and seek clarifications.

He explained that‎ the event which will be beamed live on select radio stations will have in attendance civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, professional bodies and the media.

Iworiso-Markson stressed that the proposed programme is in line with the accountability and transparency attitude of the Governor Seriake Dickson’s administration which has been on display since 2012.

The inter-ministerial/agency briefing, he said,‎ will herald other activities of the sixth anniversary which includes the commissioning of key projects of the government.

Iworiso-Markson added that despite the challenge of funds the government has continued to carry out its responsibility which is evident across the state and urged Bayelsans to continue to support the government to do more.
