Nigerian bourse closes the year bullish as index gains 0.66%
The Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index (NSEASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.66 per cent, while the year-to-date return stood at 42.30 per cent on Friday, the last trading day for the year 2017.
The All-Share Index closed at 38,243.19 against the previous close of 37,990.74 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦13.609 trillion against previous close of ₦13.520 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 74.10 per cent from 322.392 million to 561.273 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 90.44 per cent from ₦3.620 billion to ₦6.894 billion in 2,722 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 417.447 million shares exchanged for₦1.728 billion. Conglomerates came next with 99.191 million shares traded for ₦0.148 billion, Oil And Gas, Consumer Goods, Industrial Goods sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Aiico, Transcorp, Custodian, Fidelitybk and Mobil were the most active stocks by volume. Seplat,Fcmb,Sterlnbank,Nestle and Medviewair emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Eterna, Mansard, Caverton, Ucap and Cutix topped the losers chart.
