Presidential Election: Buhari increases leading margin
Here are the official results of the presidential election in some of the states as presented by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday.
- Buhari wins Kwara
President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the presidential election in Kwara State defeating his main challenger, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In the result announced at the National Collation Centre, Abuja, Buhari scored 308,984 to defeat Atiku who scored 138,480.
- Buhari wins Osun State
The All Progressives Congress has won the presidential election in Osun State.
The party’s candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, polled 347, 634 votes to defeat his closest contender, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had 337, 377 votes.
The results for Osun State were announced by Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos.
- INEC announces Buhari winner in Ekiti
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday announced President Muhammadu Buhari of All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of Saturday’s presidential election in Ekiti.
The result was announced at the National Collation Centre (ICC) Abuja, by the Prof. Idowu Olayinka, Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan, who is the Collation Officer for the election in the state. Olayinka announced that Buhari polled 219, 231 votes to defeat Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s Atiku Abubakar, who scored 154,032 votes. Felix Nicholas of Peoples Coalition Party (PCP) was third with 2,299 votes.
- Buhari defeats Atiku in Kogi
President Muhammadu Buhari and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has polled a total votes of 285,894 in Kogi to defeat his main challenger, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, who polled 218,207 votes.
The presidential results declared in Lokoja by the Kogi State Collation Officer, Prof Michael Adikwu of the University of Abuja, showed that Buhari won in 14 out of the 21 LGAs of the state while Atiku won in seven. Buhari led Atiku with a wide margin of 67,687 votes.
- Buhari sweeps Yobe, defeats Atiku
President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the presidential election in Yobe state after polling 497,914 to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 50,763 votes.
- Buhari beats Atiku in Lagos with over 130,000 votes
President Muhammadu Buhari has won the Presidential election in Lagos State, by defeating his rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with a 132,798 vote.
The margin was lower than the 160,143 votes with which Buhari defeated Jonathan in 2015 in the megapolis. Buhari then polled 792,460 votes, while Jonathan got 632,327.
In the latest results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Yaba area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria on Monday afternoon, Buhari polled 580,814 votes to beat Atiku, who got 448,016 votes in keenly contested election.
- Atiku wins FCT with 259,997 votes
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced PDP’s Atiku Abubakar as the winner of the presidential election in the FCT
He recorded 259,997 votes while his opponent, President Muhamudu Buhari, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded 152,224 votes.
- Atiku trounces Buhari in Enugu
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has defeated President Muhammadu Buhari, of the All Progressives Congress APC in the Saturday’s presidential election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Atiku polled a total of 355,553 to defeat Buhari who polled a total of 54,423 votes, while the candidate of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, Professor Kinsley Moghalu who polled a total of 1,371 to come a distant third.
Announcing the presidential election result as garnered by each political party, the INEC returning officer for Enugu State, Professor Joseph E. Ahaneku, Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, commended the party agents, observers and party stakeholders for the level of maturity they have displayed collation of results from the 17 local government areas of the state.
- Atiku beats Buhari in Adamawa
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has won the presidential election in his home state, Adamawa.
Atiku got a total of 410,266 votes in the 21 local government areas of the state to upstage President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received 378,076 votes.
- Buhari roundly defeats Atiku in Kano
President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won, according to the results announced from 34 Local Government Areas (LGAs) so far in Kano.
According to the current figures, Buhari is leading with about 800,000 votes against Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
So far, PDP has not secured a single victory in any of the collated 34 LGAs in Kano State.
Kano has 44 LGAs.
- Atiku records narrow victory over Buhari in Oyo
The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Abubakar Atiku, has recorded a narrow victory over the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari in Oyo State.
In the results from the 33 local governments in the state as declared by INEC, Atiku polled 366,720 votes to beat Buhari who garnered 365,230 votes. Atiku won with 1,490 votes.
