Club Inspirati marks 10th anniversary, gets new exco, inaugurates BOT/BOP

The 10th Annual General Meeting of the Club Inspirati, an NGO centred on self-development through personal effectiveness and personal finance advocacy, is billed to hold in Lagos, on Friday, May 24, 2019.

Founded by Deacon Lanre Inspirati-Oyetade, a journalist, on August 08, 2008, the Club has its aim as inspiring its members and those they influence beyond mental and material poverty through a four-way agenda with the acronym PLIM, representing Public Speaking, Leadership Development, Investment Advocacy and Mentorship.

Speaking about the Club, Inspirati-Oyetade said, “To the glory of God, in its 10 years of existence, the Club has positively affected lives, as is evident from the testimonials of several of its members. It has also succeeded on each of its planned agenda, as members have been tutored on public speaking, leadership principles, had been made members of several investment moves though The Inspirati Investment Company (TIIC), which has transmuted into The Inspirati Group, with interests in Inspirational Speaking & Training, Consulting, Media & Publishing, Real Estate and Agricultural activities. Members have also been taught the tenets of mentorship and have been linked with prospective mentors through the institution of the Mentor-Members’ platform of the Club.”

He continued: “The journey over the last decade has been one of both nostalgic memories and Divine assistance, especially with the nearly unprecedented movements in economic indices culminating in the crash of the capital market in 2008/9, soon after the Club’s formation.”

He maintained that the overall purposes of Club Inspirati, which was to better the lot of the human individual, and to set up an outfit that would continue to do this long after the passage of its initial proponents, was largely being attained, and was particularly being consolidated upon with the transfer of the executive baton to a much-younger President and his VPs, alongside the inauguration of the Board of Life Patrons (BOP) and Board of Trustees (BOT).

Speaking further, Inspirati-Oyetade said the major task before the new Exco, led by Mr. Kehinde Agbele, an accountant, who had been with the Club since its inception, is to take the concept and the Club to a higher level, by particularly recruiting a young crop of membership that will form the critical mass of the nation’s and indeed global leadership in their various market place callings very soon, while also devising methods of bringing back to the fold many of the nearly 200 youths that started with the Club.

On their part, the BOP and BOT are expected to provide support and guidance to the Exco and indeed the Club, and ensure that all that is done going forward are in the interest of members of the Club, he stated.

The Board of Life Patrons is made up of Prof. Pat Utomi and Rev. Tope Popoola, while the Board of Trustees is chaired by Dr. Ayo Teriba, an economist and CEO of Economic Associates in Lagos. Other members of the BOT include Mr. Femi Awoyemi, Chairman of Proshare Nigeria, Pastor Fela Durotoye, Deacon Lanre Inspirati-Oyetade, Mrs Nancy Oyetade, Chief R.D. Omolade, Elder Ajani Omotosho, Elder Adesola Oluwaleke, the incumbent president of the Club at any point in time, and Barrister Kogbara  Bariture, or any other nominated law practitioner, as the Board’s Legal Adviser and Secretary.

Apart from the incoming president of the Club, Mr. Kehinde Agbele, other members of the new Exco are Mr. Emmanuel Olojuanu, Mr. Bola Adeate, Miss. Gbemi Alamutu and Mr. Todimu Oyetade.

At the occasion, Mr. Femi Awoyemi is to be inducted into The Inspirati Hall of Mentor-Members, while Deacon Lanre Inspirati-Oyetade will serve forthwith as the Club’s non-executive Chairman.
