Bobrisky captured by soldiers, Gov Wike says

Governor Nyesom Wike has said that Bobrisky, a notorious criminal in Rivers State has been captured less than 24 hours after he was declared wanted with N30 million bounty placed on him.

Wike made the disclosure while speaking during a security meeting with leaders of Rumuolumeni community in Government House in Port Harcourt on Friday.

The governor, who said Bobrisky was captured by soldiers, however, did not give details of where and how he was arrested.

Governor Wike, had, on Thursday, evening, declared the notorious criminal and cult group leader wanted after condemning series of his criminal activities in the state.

He expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Army for their support in capturing the suspected cultist, said.

On the payment of N30 bounty on the arrest of Bobrisky,  Wike said he would pay the soldiers who had helped in arresting the fugitive criminal.

“The Army has captured Bobrisky of Gokana. I will pay the bounty that I promised to the Nigerian Army.

“Anyone who generates insecurity in Rivers State, I am ready to pay any amount to ensure the arrest of that person,” Wike said.

He, however, called on community leaders to supply information to the State Security Council on criminals in their communities for the security agencies to act frontally to reduce crime.

While appealing to community leaders to cooperate with the state government to check the activities of cult groups criminals in the area, Governor Wike noted that Rumuolumeni is one of the flashpoints in the state, where criminals use the waterway to escape arrest.

He reminded the community leaders of his proscription of youth groups in the state, saying that any youth body that plans to operate must send the names to the DSS and Police for screening.
