Osun Speaker urges nominees as commissioners to fast-track development
Mr Timothy Owoeye, the Speaker, Osun House of Assembly, has urged commissioner and special adviser nominees to fast track development in the state through harmonious working relationship with the legislature.
Owoeye made the call on Friday during continuation of the screening of the nominees as commissioners and special advisers by the state House of Assembly.
Gov. Gboyega Oyetola of Osun on Sept. 24 submitted to the house 35 names of nominees for confirmation.
The speaker said that the nominees’ screening would start from Sept. 30 and end Oct. 4.
Owoeye urged the nominees to help the state governor in smoothly piloting the affairs of the state.
He called on the nominees to contribute their quotas to the development of the state having been found worthy and qualified to serve as cabinet members.
According to him, the house will put the nominees on their toes to ensure they were alive to their duties.
The exercise started with eight nominees on Sept. 30 and nine were screened on Oct. 4.
The other nominees are expected to be screened next week. (NAN)
