Makinde,Wale Oke advocate violent-free electioneering system
Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde and the National Deputy President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Francis Wale Oke have called for a rancour free electioneering and seamless transition in the country’ s polity.
Makinde and Wale Oke gave the charges during the inauguration of the new Executive of the Oyo State PFN led by Rev. Samson Ajetomobi.
Commending the process that produced the Fellowship’ s new leadership, Wale Oke who was the Special Guest Speaker at the ceremony, enthused that it was a thing of joy that the new leaders emerged without any rancour and hitches.
To this end, he urged the political class in the country to emulate the process so as to lessen frictions that had become a permanent feature in the country’s political system.
“As the National Deputy President of PFN under activities equally falls within the purview of supervising the state’s Fellowship, I never had cause to interfere, though I was adequately carried along. It’s heart warming that this transition has been rancour free and not a do-or-die affair as commonly done by our politicians” he asserted
Quoting copiously from different Bible passages, Wale Oke who is also the Presiding Bishop of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Ibadan, commanded the outgone Executive of Bishop Taiwo Adelakun, urging the new leadership headed by Rev Ajetomobi to be humble in order to fulfil the purpose of being elected.
Speaking in the same vein, Engr. Makinde commended the seamless transition process that produced the new executive, noting that the political class should emulate the PFN, stressing “There is much to learn from the fall out of this election by the political class.”
While calling for prayers for his administration, the governor maintained that he remained unshakeable in his determination at enhancing the value of life of the people of the state.
Equally making a veil reference to the on-going litigation concerning his election, Makinde said the battle was God’s and “His will shall prevail.”
Also, speaking, the outgone Chairman of the state PFN, Bishop Adelakun said though he became Chairman of the state PFN by accident, he did his best to add value, imploring his predecessor to do better.
The new helmsman, Rev Ajetomobi speaking after their inauguration, assured that he would work relentlessly to uplift the body and its members.
