FG reacts to conviction of 6 in UAE for wiring $782,000 to Boko Haram

The Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on Monday confirmed that six citizens of the country, have been convicted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), for wiring $782,000 to insurgent group Boko Haram.

The Nigerians include Abubakar Muhammad and Saleh Yusuf Adamu who got life imprisonment, Ibrahim Ali Alhassan, AbdurRahman Ado Musa, Bashir Ali Yusuf and Muhammad Ibrahim Isa, who got ten years each.

Abike Dabiri-Erewa said, “they can approach the Supreme Court if they so desire.”

The NiDCOM DG who shared on Twitter appealed to Nigerians all over the world to desist from crime and criminality.

“6 Nigerians convicted in the UAE for wiring $782,000 to Boko Haram.

“Abubakar Muhammad and Saleh Yusuf Adamu got life imprisonment, while Ibrahim Ali Alhassan, AbdurRahman Ado Musa, Bashir Ali Yusuf and Muhammad Ibrahim Isa got 10 years.

“They lost their appeal.

“They can approach the Supreme Court if they so desire, as we continue to appeal to Nigerians all over the world to desist from crime and criminality

“The case had been in court since 2015,” Dabiri-Erewa tweeted.
