APC governors demand review of party’s constitution
Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the southwest have demanded a review of the ruling party’s constitution.
The governors’ position was confirmed by the chairman of the southwest governors’ forum, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state.
Akeredolu spoke at the APC Constitution Review and Stakeholders’ Meeting held at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun state.
In a statement signed by Akeredolu’s media aide after the event, the governor noted that the ” rules and regulations guiding a party like the APC must be dynamic and not static.”
The statement also revealed that Akeredolu, governors and other concerned stakeholders in the southwest will communicate their position to the APC’s constitution review committee.
Ogun state governor Dapo Abiodun, who hosted the event in Abeokuta, also urged an immediate review of the APC’s legal document.
