ICSAN creates better employment opportunities for youths – Official
Mr Ime Asibong, the Chairman, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, (ICSAN), Akwa Ibom chapter, says the institute has empowered youths in the state for better job opportunities.
Asibong made this known on Thursday, while addressing newsmen on the 3rd ICSAN, Akwa Ibom Annual Conference and Dinner, scheduled to hold on Friday, Sept. 24, at Ibom Icon Hotel and Golf Resort in Uyo.
The chairman said that the institute had helped to promote capacity building, accountability and professionalism in both the public and private sectors of the state.
Asibong said that before the establishment of ICSAN in the state, many indigenous youths were unfit to get employment in top notch corporate organisations, due to the lack of requisite skills needed in such organisations.
He said with the establishment of ICSAN in Akwa Ibom, many such youths had taken advantage of the opportunities offered by the institute, to become valuable players in the corporate world.
The chairman revealed that many youths who passed the examinations of the institute had been inducted and were now serving in corporate organisations outside the state.
Asibong said further that politicians were part of the training in the institute, which had helped in governance.
“ICSAN educational and professional structures are dedicated to broadening professional horizons of leaders, by providing programmes on a wide range of courses and best practices that are nationally and internationally recognised.
“The presence of the institute in Akwa Ibom state is aimed at supporting and enhancing capacity building, accountability and professionalism in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors in the state.
“These are necessary propellers that will create an enabling environment for efficient, effective and credible justice system in our dear state,” he stated.
The chairman said that a past preesident of the institute, Dr. Nosike Agokei, FCIS, would deliver a keynote address during the conference on, “Strategies on Corporate Sustainability: Impact on Economy, Society Governance”.
He urged Akwa Ibom people, especially the youths, to improve their chances in getting better job opportunities by being a part of the conference.
Asibong said that the institute was the “only professional body authorised to conduct examinations leading to the qualification of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, in Nigeria”.
