CVL honours formidable women engineers
On Thursday 27th of October, 2022 at The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Adeola Hopewell street, VI, Lagos as Centre for Values in Leadership will celebrate and honour some women who have not only made a name for themselves but also became leaders without care for title in their chosen profession.
The Centre for Values in Leadership will be honoring them with the Award of Excellence in the Engineering Sector at the 56th LWT Tribute Colloquium.
According to the organization, “Women are often under-represented in the academic and professional fields of Engineering; however, many have contributed to the diverse fields of engineering historically and continue to do so today.
“Without more female role models, young women might not be encouraged to pursue a career in Engineering.
“Engr. Ebele Okeke, Engr. Idiat Amusu, Engr. Mayen Adetiba and Engr. Nkechi Isigwe and several others were trailblazers who entered the profession of engineering at a time when opportunities for women in the field were limited.
“Driven by their passion for science and technology, these women are shattering the glass ceiling in Engineering and pushing the envelope of the profession” and the organization feels they deserved to be honoured.
