Ohanaeze hails Appeal Court judgment on Nnamdi Kanu
Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has applauded the judgement of the Appeal Court on the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB)
Business247News reports that the Appeal Court sitting in Abuja on Thursday discharged the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu
Kanu is being prosecuted by the Federal Government at the Federal High Court in Abuja for 15 count charges bordering, including treasonable felony and terrorism, offences he allegedly committed in the course of his separatist campaigns.
Dr. Chiedozie Alex Ogbonnia National Publicity Secretary, Ohanaeze Ndigbo described the judgment as a welcome development saying it has triggered jubilation galore across South East states and Nigeria
He said “ Ohanaeze is very happy with this development because insecurity ravaging the South East, as well as Monday sit-at-home enforcement that has crippled our economy will come to an end.
“With today’s judgment, we are confident that south East will witness a peaceful and transparent election because our people are already nursing the fear that 2023 will be threatened by insecurity.
He commended the judiciary for the judgment expressing confidence that the image of Nigeria will be improved by this judgment.
