WAEC releases date for commencement of 2023 examination

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced Monday, May 8 as the starting date for the 2023 school-based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

This announcement was made by the Head of National Office, Patrick Areghan, at a pre-examination press conference on Thursday in Lagos State.

The exams are scheduled to conclude on Friday, June 23rd, giving candidates a seven-week period to demonstrate their academic prowess.

A total of 1,621,853 candidates across 20,851 government and private schools have registered for the examination, according to Areghan.
