PDP governors to receive, send forth elected colleagues, Thursday
Governors elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday, announced that it will receive new governors-elect on Thursday at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
The event, the governors said, will feature a discussion on “Good Governance at the Sub-National level: Issues, Perspectives, Expectations and Outcomes”, to be presented by Dr. Muda Yusuf, a renowned economist, as Guest Speaker, will lay out the challenges facing governance at the sub-national level and possible solutions.
In a statement by the Director General of PDP Governors Forum (PDP-GF), Hon. CID Maduabum stated that the forum will honour some past leaders of the forum including Ayodele Fayose, Olusegun Mimiko, Seriake Dickson and Ibrahim Dankwambo.
Maduabum also added that the event which is the last activity of PDP Governors’ Forum under the leadership of Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal will include a Send Forth of Past PDP-GF Chairmen.
Some of the PDP Governors-Elect being received into the Forum are: Umo Bassey Eno (Akwa Ibom); Peter Ndubusi Mbah (Enugu State); Agbu Kefas (Taraba State); Ameopusenibo Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers); Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta State); Dauda Lawal ( Zamfara State) and Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau State).
The governors stated that they will use the occasion to welcome three re-elected Governors, namely, Bala Mohammed (Bauchi); Seyi Makinde (Oyo) and Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (Adamawa).
The outgoing governors are Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (Sokoto – Chairman); Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia – Vice Chairman); Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom); Samuel Ortom (Benue); Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta); Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu); Nyesom Wike (Rivers) and Darius Dickson Ishaku (Taraba) State, will also be honoured during the ceremony for all their services to the Forum.
Other party officials expected at the event are: PDP Acting National Chairman, Alhaji Umar Iliya Damagum and Members of the PDP National Working Committee, 2003 PDP Presidential Candidate and Former Vice President, H.E. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON and H.E. Namadi Sambo, GCON, Former Vice President, Former PDP Governors, Current and Former PDP Presiding/Principal Officers of the National Assembly, Party Leaders, Stakeholders, friends and well-wishers of the party.
