Explosion kills four in Sokoto

At least four persons have been confirmed dead and three others injured, following a gas cylinder explosion from a local welder’s shop at Isa local government area of Sokoto State on Sunday afternoon.

The spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Sanusi Abubakar, confirmed the incident.

“The explosion is not connected to the security challenges bedevilling the area, but as a result of an explosion from a cylinder in the shop of the local welder in the area leading to the death of four persons.

“Three others who sustained injuries and are in critical condition, are receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in the state”, he said.
