Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Igboho vows to return to Nigeria, says “Govt will pay me N20bn”
Sunday Igboho, the prominent Yoruba freedom fighter, has declared his intention to return to Nigeria and resume his agitation efforts.
Igboho reassured his followers that he would soon be back in Ibadan, Oyo State, where his campaign for a Yoruba nation has gained significant traction.
In a viral video, Igboho emphasised that the Nigerian government would owe him a compensation of N20 billion as he had been cleared of all charges by the courts.
He confidently stated, “I’m coming back to Ibadan, I’m originally from Oyo State. I’m coming back home. So, Yorubas should not be afraid, and nothing will happen, nobody can make the other person afraid.”
Igboho expressed satisfaction that his demands had been justified by the court’s decision. Furthermore, he claimed that the Nigerian government had an outstanding debt of N20 billion that they owed him, which he expected to be paid.
In 2021, Igboho fled to Cotonou in the Benin Republic after the Department of State Services (DSS) launched a manhunt for him. This followed a raid on his residence in Ibadan, where weapons were allegedly discovered by DSS operatives.
