Ill-treatment   of    Emefiele: Oby Ezekwesili slams DSS “stop embarrassing yourselves”

Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has criticized the Department of State Services (DSS) for the ill-treatment of the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, on Tuesday, July 25.

The Federal High Court in Abuja had granted Emefiele bail of N20 million earlier on Tuesday following his application.

However, after what turned out to be a physical struggle between operatives of the security agency and prison staff over Emefiele’s custody, he was re-arrested.

Reacting to this, Ezekwesili, via Twitter, asked the DSS to stop embarrassing itself and tell Nigerians the truth.

She tweeted:

“The DG of @OfficialDSSNG who without decorum publicly advertises that he is a close friend of @officialABAT,obviously thinks the average IQ of sensible Nigerians is as low as that of the politicians he has reduced that Agency of @NigeriaGov to serve.

“Stop embarrassing yourselves and tell us the truth of the Emefiele matter jooo. Be guided.

“@OfficialDSSNG must immediately apologize to Nigerians for daring to take citizens for a ride on this Emefiele’s court case.

“Imagine. So after all the monetary policy damage his boss @MBuhari and the former @cenbank committed against the Nigerian economy and people, it is for “illegal possession of firearms” that State Security charged him to court? Nonsense.”
