NACCIMA, WASCA hold World Coffee and Tea Expo 2023 in Lagos

 

The West African Specialty Coffee Association (WASCA) and National Association of Chambers of Commerce Mines and Agricultures (NACCIMA) have announced that the World Coffee and Tea Expo 2023, a global gathering dedicated to the celebration and evolution of the coffee and tea industry will hold in Lagos.

This year, the Expo’s theme, “Exploring Circular Economy and Regenerative Coffee and Tea Agriculture,” takes center stage, promising to revolutionize our approach to these beloved beverages.

Scheduled to unfold from 23-24 October in the  city of Lagos, the World Coffee and Tea Expo 2023 brings together coffee and tea enthusiasts, professionals, industry leaders, and innovators from around the world.

According to a statement by the organizers on Tuesday, the heart of this year’s event is the exploration of circular economy principles and regenerative agricultural practices, aiming to create a sustainable future for the industry.

“Embracing Circular Economy Principles. The Expo will shine a spotlight on the transformative potential of circular economy practices in the coffee and tea sector. Circular economy principles promote resource efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable sourcing. This approach can lead to cost savings, environmental conservation, and enhanced product quality. International guest speakers will share their expertise and insights on how circular economy practices can reshape the industry’s landscape.

Regenerative Coffee and Tea Agriculture. In addition to circular economy discussions, the Expo will delve into the realm of regenerative agriculture. The focus will be on fostering practices that not only sustain but actively improve the health of coffee and tea ecosystems.
