FEC okays N5.9bn for Abuja light rail access roads
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N5.9 billion for the construction of access roads for the light rail system in Abuja.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, made this known on Monday while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the weekly FEC meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja.
According to him, the president has set a timeline for the completion of the Abuja light rail project, emphasizing the importance of addressing the roads that connect to the railway.
Meanwhile, a ministerial retreat for members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) is scheduled to take place from Wednesday to Friday this week.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who disclosed this to newsmen after the FEC meeting on Monday, stated that ministers, special advisers and other top government officials are expected to be in attendance.
President Tinubu had on August 21, 2023 inaugurated 45 ministers, while on October 16, he administered oath of office on three more ministers to make it a 48-man cabinet.
