Adeleke vows sustained enforcement of procurement laws, warns against violation of due process

Governor Ademola Adeleke has restated the commitment of his administration to sustain current enforcement of procurement and other due process laws in the implementation of the state’s Multi-billion naira infrastructure agenda.

Speaking at Ede while opening Imole I-Care Medical Outreach on Tuesday, the Governor who announced the commencement of rehabilitation and upgrade of Primary Health Care Centres across the state directed that due process and procurement laws must be observed to the letter

“I am honoured to use this platform to announce the commencement of the rehabilitation of primary health centers across the state. My team is already going round the local governments. Relevant committees are being set up to ensure the successful execution of the projects.

“We must ensure the projects are executed with an eye on quality and compliance with due process. We must ensure all relevant laws are complied with.

“Permit me to specifically use this platform to warn against any breach of the public procurement laws. We must observe the law to the letter. Any official found to be breaching procurement law will face the wrath of the law. In fact, such an official is on his own.

“As a governor, my mantra is due process, rule of law and fear of God. All officials must abide by these mantras. I will not tolerate any violation of the law, no matter the excuse.

“I therefore charge our agencies to operate within the law. Like I said last year, I will not protect any official found to have violated procurement laws”, the Governor posited.

On the medical outreach, the Governor said the event is a continuation of his administration’s efforts to improve the health of our people.

“This is a major area of interest for my government – health is wealth.

That focus accounts for the several programmes we are implementing to expand health access to our people. It is our conviction in this administration that health is a critical asset. The people must be taken care of. Expanding access to health is a signal of our pro-people government”, the Governor concluded.

The event was attended by top officials of the ministry and the team from the United States who facilitated the medical outreach.
