German President Steinmeier arrives in Nigeria

Germany’s President, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, has arrived in Nigeria. He was received on Tuesday, December 10 at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
During his three-day visit, Steinmeier is scheduled to meet with President Bola Tinubu and Alieu Omar Touray, the President of the ECOWAS Commission, among other engagements.
The German President will later travel to Lagos, where he plans to interact with business leaders, visit a start-up hub, and meet prominent figures from Nigeria’s cultural and civil society sectors, including Dr. Nike Okundaye and Prof. Wole Soyinka.
While in Lagos, Steinmeier is expected to tour the city and explore its urban development, focusing on environmental and social challenges facing the megacity.
