Addressing the hospital management directly, Samuel-Ayo urged it to prioritise welfare of the staff in order to encourage their efficient service delivery and performance.
He said: “Both the hospital and the senior staff should see themselves as partners in progress.
“So, let the hospital prioritise the welfare of the staff because the senior staff, being the engine room of the hospital, should be made happy to be able to put in their best into the service of the hospital.
The Chief Medical Director, LASUTH, Prof. Adetokunbo Fabamwo, reiterated commitment of the hospital to improving welfare of the staff and addressing concerns of the union.
Represented by Dr Sunday Olawoeye, Deputy Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) LASUTH, Fabamwo congratulated the union for setting up the LASUTH Branch.
“In any way we can help ourselves to move forward, we are ready to do that,” he said.
Mr Dada-David Oludare, the new SSAUTHRIA Chairman, LASUTH Branch, said that the Executives and staff would work with the hospital management to attain its objectives.
Oludare explained that attainment of the hospital’s objective was key to promotion of the staff welfare and demands.
“We are going to work with the existing union to promote interest of our members.
“On doing this, we are going to keep an eye on ensuring that the goals and objectives of the hospital are attained.
“We will cooperate with the hospital to ensure that our members function optimally so that the goal of the hospital in terms of patient care, research and training is attained.
“This is because we believe that it is when the hospital attains its objective, that it will have enough to promote interest and welfare of our members,” Oludare said.
