APC fixes July 24 NEC meeting to replace Ganduje

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed July 24, 2025, for its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting to nominate a new substantive National Chairman for the party.

After an emergency meeting at the party’s national secretariat on Monday, the National Working Committee (NWC) led by the Deputy National Secretary, Festus Fuanter, said the meeting would afford the party the opportunity to nominate a new chairman for the party.

He added that a notice for the NEC meeting has been forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Meanwhile, Ali Bukar Dalori assumed duty as the party’s Acting National Chairman on Monday.

Dalori, who was the Deputy National Chairman (North) of the APC, emerged as the party’s acting chairman following the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje as the National Chairman of the party.

Ganduje, from the North-West zone, assumed leadership of the party in August 2023, following the resignation of his predecessor, Abdullahi Adamu, from the North-Central zone.

Dalori assured party members of his dedication to carry out his new role with transparency, inclusiveness, and a unity of purpose.

Dalori appealed to NEC members to keep their eyes on the bigger picture, deliver good governance to the Nigerian people, and deepen democracy within the party structures.

The acting chairman said he was prepared to work with members as partners in the collective task of safeguarding the party’s unity, discipline, and direction.
