The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has appointed Mr Rotimi Oyekanmi the Chief Press Secretary (CPS). The appointment of two other aides was also announced.
The appointment of Professor Bolade Eyinla as the Chief Technical Adviser (CTA) and that of Professor Mohammed J. Kuna as Special Assistant to the chairman was also announced.
In a statement containing the appointment, the commission said the aides will assist him in effectively executing work in his office.
Prior to his appointment, Eyinla was a Professor of History at the University of Ilorin. He was also National Election Expert at the UNDP-DGD; Kuna, until his appointment, was a Professor of Political Sociology at the Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto. He was also Special Assistant to the former INEC Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega while Oyekanmi was a senior editorial staff of the Guardian.
