United Capital Plc, a leading African investment banking and financial services group, has announced the elevation of Mr Bunmi Akinremi as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director for the Investment Banking Division.
The newly appointed deputy CEO brings over 20 years’ investment banking and transaction experience to the company.
According to a statement from United Capital Plc, Akinremi trained as an accountant with Grant Thornton in London before joining the Royal Bank of Scotland’s Specialised Lending Unit, where he acted as lead transaction manager on a series of high profile transactions in the United Kingdom market.
His market experience in Nigeria includes time with the United Bank for Africa where he played prominent roles in a number of landmark corporate restructures and fundraising.
Akinremi holds a first degree in Economics from the University of Essex and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He also holds an MBA from Cranfield University’s School of Management.
