Equities add N74bn as banking stocks remain investors’ toast

The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.80 per cent while the Year-to-Date return stood at -4.93 percent even as investors gained N74 billion.

The All Share Index closed at 27,231.50 against the previous close of 27,015.97 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.353 trillion against previous close of ₦9.279 trillion.

Volume traded decreased by 13.42 per cent from 316.735 million to 274.216 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 19.38 per cent from ₦1.910 billion to ₦1.540 billion in 4,160 deals.

The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 235.349 million shares exchanged by investors for ₦1.167 billion. Conglomerates came next with 13.252 million shares traded for ₦0.018 billion, Consumer Goods, Oil And Gas, Agriculture sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.

FBNH, UCAP, Access, Zenithbank and FCMB were the most active stocks by volume. Vitafoam, Nahco, Fidson, Npfmcrfbk and Dnmeyer emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Learnafrca, CAP, Cadbury, Uniondicon and Neimeth topped the losers chart.
