Market bleeds further as investors lost N74bn
Equity trading on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday reverted to negative territory as the market capitalisation closed at N10.165 trillion from the value of N10.239 trillion with which it closed on Wednesday as investors closed the day trading with N74 billion loss.
The All-Share Index closed at 29,597.79 from the value of 29,812.91with which it closed the previous day’s trading. The market witnessed 342.604 million shares valued at N4.652 billion traded in4,079 deals.
The most appreciated stock of the day GUINNESS which added N2.85 to its opening value of N106.4 to close at N109.25; CONOIL followed with N1.1 gain and from its opening value N22, it left the market at N23.1; UNIONDICON which opened at N15.75 closed at 16.53 having added N0.78. BERGER closed at N8.05 having added N0.38 to its opening value N7.67. To complete the top-five gainers of the day was OANDO which closed at N6.5 from N6.2 it opened the day with as it gained N0.3 per share.
On the flip side, SEPLAT topped the losers’ chart with a drop of N10 and from the value N340 per share it commenced the day trading, it closed the day trading at N330; Forte Oil closed at N190.34 from N194.03 as it shed N3.69; NB closed at N138 from N140.01 as it dropped N2.01; DANGCEM was marked down by N2 per share to close at N192 from the opening value of N194; ETI closed at N16 from N16.51 it opened the day trading having shed N0.51 per share.
The most traded stock was GUARANTY with 66.343 million valued at N1.534billion; ETI traded 41.657million shares at N666, 581 million; AIICO traded 36.205 million shares N25. 139 million; UNIONDICON traded 33.730 million shares at N557.550milliom; FBNH traded 26.417 million N103.096 million.
