CIBN inaugurates new council committee
The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has inaugurated new committees of council, in a bid to see to the administration of the general affairs of the institute.
The new committee will be reporting directly to the Governing Council of the institute with the immediate tasks of repositioning of CIBN chapters and branches in order to serve as a rally points for new members.
Professor Segun Ajibola, President /Chairman CIBN, while speaking at the inauguration of the council committee noted that in fulfilling the vision and responsibilities of the institute, the governing council which is also charged with the responsibilities of administration and general management of the institute has therefore approved the list of new committee and its membership at the inauguration of the Governing Council meeting on 9th June 2016 with the expectation that the committees would give it support during this tenure.
He added that the committees will report directly to the Governing Council and in case the management and some office holders may have some facts/information not immediately available to the committees, on such occasions Office Holder’s position could direct it to the new committee.
Ajibola, therefore, charged the newly appointed committee members on the importance of personal attendance at meetings, which he said is key if the deliberations at the Committee Meetings are to be fruitful.
He also noted that the need to satisfy the statutory and moral duty of paying subscriptions is sine qua non. ‘The Committee Members must set the pace for others to follow. Membership Development Committee to please seize the initiative and guide us on how to encourage our members to pay up as and when due as the Institute strives to make the necessary impact on their lives’, he added.
